How Our Garage Door Referrals Work

Garage Door NY does not send its own technicians. We answer a phone line and route each call to an independent garage door company that covers the caller's area. Here is exactly what that means for you.

What happens when you call

  1. You dial the number on this site

There is no form to fill in and no charge for the call.

  2. Your location decides where the call goes

Based on where you are, the call is passed to a garage door company that has agreed to take calls from that area.

  3. You speak with that company

They ask about the door, tell you their service fee and when they can come.

  4. Everything after that is between you and them

The company quotes the repair, does the work and bills you directly. You are free to say no at any point.

How we are paid

Garage door companies pay for the calls they receive through this site. You pay nothing to us. That fee is a cost of marketing for them, like an ad in a directory, and it is not added to your bill as a separate charge.

Because we are paid for connecting calls, we have an interest in the companies being ones people are happy to call. If something goes wrong with a company you were connected to, please tell us.

What we do not do

  • We do not inspect, repair or install garage doors
  • We do not set prices or guarantee the work of the company you speak with
  • We do not employ technicians or hold a contractor license ourselves
  • We do not sell your number or sign you up for anything

The company you are connected with is responsible for its own licensing, insurance, pricing and workmanship. On Long Island, ask for its Nassau or Suffolk home improvement license number before work starts.

Why use a referral line at all?

When a spring snaps at 7 a.m. or the door will not close at night, searching through ads and calling five numbers is the last thing anyone wants to do. One number that goes straight to a company covering your town saves time. Our pages also try to explain the problem honestly, so you know what to expect and what to ask before anyone arrives.
