About Garage Door NY

What this site is

Garage Door NY is an information site and a phone line for garage door problems on Long Island and in upstate New York. The pages explain common failures, what repairs involve, rough costs and the local rules that apply. The phone line connects callers with independent garage door companies that serve their area.

We are not a garage door company. We have no showroom, no trucks and no technicians. Read how referrals work for the details.

How we write our pages

• Safety comes first. We tell you plainly when a job should not be done yourself.
• Prices are rough ranges for orientation, labeled as such, never quotes.
• Local pages are based on facts about the place: its history, housing, coastline or climate, and who issues building permits there.
• We do not publish reviews, ratings or claims we cannot back up.

Brands and trademarks

We mention opener and door brands so you can recognize the equipment in your garage. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by or authorized by any manufacturer, and brand names belong to their owners.
